Eucharist

The Eucharist–instituted by Jesus at the Last Supper–is at the core of our celebration each Mass. Jesus truly becomes the Body and Blood we receive (John 6: 51-58). At the Last Supper, sharing His Body and Blood with the disciples, Jesus said, “Do this in memory of me”–and so we do, through Holy Communion.

Each year the students in the 2nd grade or above in Youth Faith Formation and John Ireland School are prepared to celebrate First Communion. First Communion will be on April 21, 2024.

Parents preparing their children for 1st Communion will find the videos for lessons on the 1st Communion Page.

Adults wishing to receive First Communion are encouraged to join the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) program.
